"True North" had a long time getting written & recorded as a complete song.
It was originally sketched out as a ruff demo in Wellington, New Zealand back in 2005 - with the lyrics hinting at embracing your worst fears and revelling in the potential danger:
'Beneath the shadow of the wave
Right before it breaks
I will take my chances.'
After sitting idle on a dusty hard drive for a
year or two, we listened again to the demo & it became a possible choice for the Keegan Snaize album.
As the track began to take shape, it seemed to lend itself perfectly to an arrangement using vintage synth drums & cheap keyboard sounds - we figured this would splice together in an oddly comforting way with the confused, lost at sea-shanty words.
Why not just download it NOW for free and see if it don't give you the itch to hear ( and hopefully buy) some more of our home-recordings that we've tried our best to make sound all proper and that.
